The Salish Sea

It reaches from the north end of the Strait of Georgia in British Columbia to the south end of Puget Sound in Washington State and west to where the Strait of Juan de Fuca meets the Pacific Ocean.

These three bodies of seawater and the surrounding watershed basin that drains fresh water into them form an integrated ecosystem that supports exquisite biodiversity and massive economies.

These are the ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish Peoples, who have lived as stewards of this ecosystem from time immemorial.

This is our home. We are responsible for restoring its health.
